Hey everyone! Well looks like the
effects from Sandy were a lot worse than i expected especially up in
the Jersey and New York area. It was bad! We have been asked that we
got give service to the East Brunswick stake as a stake down here in Dover, we
got permission as missionaries to leave the mission and go up and help in the
clean up efforts. We will probably go up in like a week or two with some of our
recent converts and go help some people out, should be a cool
opportunity.
Well this
week was really cool we had to baptisms of the kids that i have been talking
about Richie and Ayaz and also another one that didn't really count
for us but a excommunicated member got re baptized it was way cool!
But it was way cool to see Richie and Ayaz from the lives they used to live to
know you wouldn't even know that was them its been an amazing change
for both them, Hopefully if the ward does its job Richie should be out on a
mission in a year. I know they will bring a lot more people into the church. We
are working with Ayaz's wife right now and hopefully she will get baptized
soon. It was a great service and the spirit was for sure felt there, they both
were super emotional it was way cool to see! Thats why i am a missionary to see
moments like them, i have never felt such happiness, knowing that i did
something good! I love it! We also had another miracle I almost forgot to fast
yesterday but my companion caught me, but i fasted that we would be able to
find someone to teach that would be solid this week. Then we were sitting at
church and this guys shows up wanting to know about the church. He called our
mission leader last night telling how much he loved church and how welcome he
felt! We are going to see him this week and invite him to be baptized, I want
one more baptism to beat my goal. I had a goal of 10 on my mission of course
its changed but i hit it and now i want to beat it haha! But i know its not all
about those!
But i do love this work! Its so crazy its coming down to the wire
and i wouldnt trade these 2 years for nothing it truly has changed my life! I
love you all.
Thanks!
Elder Smart
