Hey, Everyone!
Well it was a great week
the weekend was bomb! I guess it started out with BYU winning i guess haha! But
anyways, on Saturday too i went and played ball basically like a
tryout to see if i was good enough at B-ball to come the next weeks, the guy i
guarded played in the final four for Oklahoma state and played pro
ball in Poland, haha he was good, but i earned my spot to go play next week it
was tight! haha i have gotten a lot better i think it was playing in the hood
it got me a little tougher haha. Anyways great stories to tell this week!
So we had a BAPTISM!!!! It went so good
yesterday. It was Brandon who has a really strong testimony, his family is
totally against the church, he really isn't at church for the social
aspect but he is there cause he knows its true. It was a really
cool baptism. We asked him who he wanted to baptize him and he
chose me, i was happy to do it! It went really good. He was like i feel
wonderful after he got dunked. Its always amazing to see how the spirit works
in people that is one thing i am so grateful for now that i know how to recognize and use the spirit in my life.
Also we had a cool lesson
with 2 of our progressing investigators Richie and Ayaz this week, they have
gone through a lot to get to this point and have had to give a lot up. But
Thursday we went and we taught the Word of Wisdom because they still both
smoke. So we asked them to set a goal to quit smoking and Ayaz on the spot went
and crushed up his cigarettes and hasn't smoked since, he is just
soaking up everything we teach them. They stayed for the baptism too
yesterday and was like yupp we are next we can't wait! haha so awesome they are
going to bring many people to the gospel, they have already brought 3
friends to listen to us! Awesome kids!
But i am so excited for
general conference its crazy its my last one and i am
in single digits week wise left! its crazy time is going to fly by
but i am going to work my hardest! I love this work and i love all of you
thanks for the love and support!
Love
Elder Smart
